This is taken well off Route 66. An hour or so north of the great road and I-40. It's on the southern
access route to Chaco Canyon, once the seat of of Anasazi culture. I'm putting it in the Route 66 album
for a couple reasons. First, though they apparently didn't even have the wheel, the Anasazi built an
intricate, expansive and advanced road system. Second, sidetrips are an important part of any road
trip-The Grand Canyon and Las Vegas are the best known Route 66 sidetrips. Chaco Canyon's a sidetrip
I've been intending to take for years.
