You see alot of this trying to follow the old highway. A promising stretch of roadway just ends at
a fence or barrier. This was a more recent alignment of Route 66. We follows a gravel bit of older
section which you'll see in the next series image. That's John squinting into the sun, trying to work
out the old alignment. While I was into the cultural aspects of the highway-how people lived-John really
had a thing for these abandoned sections of roadway. I found it a good mix, keeping me aware of aspects
of the highway I might otherwise have ignored.
