Ummm, this would be the underground parking. The market is in the town, mostly on the west side of
the river bank, but spilling out onto and across this bridge. My photographs don't really do this
event justice--the Thursday market in Kuqa has a charm and utility which the more famous Kashgar market
can't match. I was the only foreigner, for one. But the setting, mostly in the winding streets of
Kuqa's old town, is not littered with the communist-era concrete white elephants characterising large
sections of Kashgar's.
