Jiuquan was actually a much prettier, livelier and pleasanter town than this photograph indicates.
I just happened to notice the steeple and cross. An unusual site in China. I can probably count all
the Christian churches I saw in China using no more than my own fingers. Anyway, Jiuquan as a town
has much to recommed it over Jiayuguan.
